october fourteenth time

A spider's web grasps at everything
and gorges on its own tendrils.

Its fly husks wave and shimmer
like food particles in a swollen mustache. (!)

It bobs and weaves in wind
like something whistled.

,

Still, its human implications :

To catch a loved one with.
Of formidable strength
and design.

Temporal. Spiritual.

One would think that we
were in the practice of sapping dry
the ones we keep for company.

Of pausing where we fit
easy. Of lying snug
in our illusions as we wait
and wait
and wait for gravity
to pull us down
